About Steve
Combining lived experience with professional expertise to support individuals and organisations

My Journey
I'm a Person-Centred Counsellor, workplace trainer, and public speaker with a unique perspective shaped by both professional training and personal experience. As a two-time cancer survivor, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating difficult circumstances, which informs my compassionate and authentic approach to supporting others.
After a successful career in management and security, I retrained as a counsellor, completing my BSc (Hons) in Person-Centred Counselling in 2022. I now work in private practice in Crewe, Cheshire, and have extensive experience supporting individuals and families through bereavement, life-limiting illness, anxiety, depression, and life's difficult transitions.

Why I Do This Work
Life sometimes throws up unexpected hurdles, and I have overcome my fair share. After two cancer diagnoses and twice overcoming severe treatments, followed by a drawn-out employment tribunal, it has not been easy. I couldn't have done it without the amazing support I received.
I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for the people who helped, listened, and supported me. I now enjoy doing the same for others in similar situations.
My own journey through cancer, employment challenges, and retraining as an adult in difficult circumstances has given me deep empathy for others facing adversity. Whether I'm working one-to-one with a client, training a corporate team, or speaking at an international conference, my goal is the same: to help people build resilience, find acceptance, and move forward with hope.
